Hollistik

Maha Ganem is a public health entrepreneur and founder of HOLLISTIK Group. In 2012, while she was working as a political journalist covering the European union from Brussels and across the world, she became suddenly ill and was diagnosed with a rare auto-immune disease. Since, she went back to school where she earned a double Masters in public health and health psychology while dealing with the challenges of her diseases.

At the end of her studies, she was recruited as a research assistant to work on a European Union funded scientific project on chronic illness, self-management and health literacy in Lyon (France).

Today, she gives talks and conferences focusing on a more integrated and holistic approach of our modern healthcare systems, and works with public and private companies that want to have a more comprehensive approach to their employees’ health and well-being.

She also teaches future healthcare professionals about the ‘patient experience’ at Grenoble’s medical and pharmacy schools in France.

Maha founded, participates and sits on the board of several research projects that focus on patients’ outcomes, long-term care, self-management and integrated approaches of healthcare systems.

“I believe in health as a means of individual emancipation and social justice for all, and I embody it on a daily basis thanks to a unique point of view forged by my personal experience, my discoveries in the field and my professional expertise. It is this multifaceted and complementary approach as a journalist, researcher, patient, teacher and carer that enables me to develop content and projects that are as close as possible to the needs and concerns of people affected by chronic illness, disability, loss of autonomy and the end of life.”
